I wanted to share a few looks of of Steven Alan's recent fashion week preview. It's special to me because throughout my childhood and til today I have heard the women in my family (I have two older sisters, each with three daughters, a younger brother with two daughters and two sister-in-laws) complaining how fashion does not really cater to religious woman who by jewish law must dress modestly. Many of the looks in this collection looked as if they were designed with Orthodox Jewish Women in mind. Maybe Steven is coming back to his roots. Even this outfit being sketched by Richard is almost Tzniut. I loved watching over his shoulder. She was adorable. And really liked the attention and cracked a smile. Too cute. I think the girl to her left felt left out. I wonder how Richard feels about 'the other' models when he is drawing. draws and only is into the one look as he's drawing. I know I find it really hard to shoot only one person when I'm wanting to take someones picture and they're walking with someone. I almost never ask them to stand apart and alot of my images suck as a result. I remember once a fotog. for the NY Daily News asked me to move so he could shoot some model gals I was walking next too out of a show. I will never forget, he said in the rudest tone "Can you move, I only shoot girls". I know I could just shoot them both, but I have a hard time shooting a look I'm not really feeling. Can't just take someones picture and have them think they've got it going on when they don't!
What you are gazing at is probably all sold by now. I have way too many photos in my bank, I’m rich there… and share what I’m in the mood of. Sorry if I teased you, they have tons more!
I shared with you a taste of their designer assortment… What I didnt realy touch on is their extensive collection of deadstock and worn sportswear or streetwear from Supreme, Stussy and many other legendary brands! They also have the friendliest staff of any young retailer. I hear they are opening a 2nd store, great news.
Always been a huge fan of this bag. Motorola Razor Copped 2 pairs o' tennies Denim underwear for the kiddies over their diapers. gangster with the red cloth out the back pocket. Stetson Open Road, I mustve shot this hat 100 times since being out West. Love me a needlepoint loafer Love old Jansport! Those vests the Japanese and cool guys everywhere lust for. Huge fan of a proper tab collared shirt. Hazy shot but one of the best looks I saw. Good look rock star. I dont really want to show you the full length, he kinda messed that part up. OK, here it is. We've all seen Buddy Lee dolls, but I never get tired of shooting the lil' guys. Did you read this shirt??
horrible belt but the shirt and blazer were just perfect. When it comes to events like this, If youre not actually celebrating a dead one, its just another reason to get dressed up. I’m cool with costume just about any day, but I will tear you apart… When we got into the park, there was the most beautiful & scary trees, altars & costumes. This cat definitely wasnt scary but he had one of the best looks I’ve seen in SF so far. a mockneck with a beret. very art director from back in the day. There were some older cats that really turned it out. went in, worked it. cant be mad at someone that just showed up and wasnt in costume. I of course liked that he had contrasting shoe laces. Another cat that wasnt dressed up for the holiday but just had great colors! theres something special about a fella in a not precious beanie. non sagging, non cashmere etc. say what you will about his clothes clothes. He is killing it. oy, nakedness in garages along the parade route. Too many idiots/brands/stores are abusing fedoras and fur felt hats in general, this one I think I like. (he almost looks like he’s a 70’s rocker) This dudes camera strap was pretty cool. very cool.
A purdy bird.
Watch kinda effed it up, but I like the scarf with the western shirt.
