Brooks
If you've stopped in the Nolita RRL shop you know the fellas in there are of the nicest of retail specialists. Exactly the opposite of most stores today, you can actually hang out there, have a decent conversation that's not all about 'where'd you get those?' Brooks came to NYC a few years ago from sunny California and brings those vibes to Prince Street. Saw him earlier today at Ray's in a great old fedora and was reminded of these photographs I took last winter. One of the great things about working retail for RRl must be that you don't have to wear all Ralph Lauren product when working. The kids there are able to mix it up and do that quite well. I don't think they would wear other modern designers but they do mix vintage better than most people I see these here days.
A Tuck I Didn’t Mind ~The North Face x Baron Von Fancy
When a man wears his boots and plays as hard as the Baron does, the tuck doesn’t bother me. Maybe it’s his skinny jeans that by nature will tuck into the mouth of the boot. Not to say if it was a wider jean he would have worn over the boot, but they’re so tough and beefy that since the jean isn’t jegging category I really think it’s a case of a natural tuck that one cant help. My main problem with the tuck of todays men & youth is that many I see are wearing dainty precious looking boots. Not tough, not beefy, not covered in paint from a days work or beet up at all.
Maurizio Donadi ~LVC Carpenter Jeans
I really like how he wears these jeans all cuffed and baggy with Timbs. The scarf is from Faliero Sarti, an old famous maker in ItalY.
Modern Workwear ~Bowery Bob
I think these are some Timberland boots he custom made years ago, or maybe he just customized the interiors.. In one of my 1st posts I showed you a footbed- I think, may have deleted it… it belonged to this boot. Bob is a worker man. He gets filthy on a daily basis while creating his art. His beanie hat or whatever we want to call it isnt sagging LA style, its merely worn uptop, it felt about a hundred degrees in the loft, and this was shot as soon as we hit the streets, minuets later. Not trying to defend his hat wearing ways, Bob can defend himself. Those are RVSbyV for silver lining opticians in NY. Jordan does a swell job there in his soho eyeglass store.
