Colorful Morning By The Water ~ Fort Cronkhite Rodeo Beach
Just pretend you didn’t see this photo and follow the sequence below. I know most of you are ADD like me and just wanna look and leave so Ill hit you with the best first, incase you don’t scroll down…
So… Since the move out west I have been getting on the bridges and out of the city any chance I get. On this particular morning I went with my friend to surf, I try and make photos on the land, he tries and catch waves or however the term goes. I spot this dude, his dog waiting for him on the beach below… He’s about to put that one hat inside the other… Setting up camp.
Then he comes up to where the cars are parked and is getting even more gear!
His dog must be in the best shape a dog could possibly be in. Shoulda seen these activities. M. Williams woulda been happy like a puppy.
Oh, please don’t ask me about the dog, It was pretty, real nice, but I can barely shoot men, moving animals are even harder for me to capture…
A Weekend Stroll On Fillmore
Ran into the best dude ever! Classic khaki styling on a weekend on the UES or here in Pacific Heights, SF. Hung around for him and a friend to finish their conversation, wasn’t happening anytime soon so I had to interupt which is always weird, but I have to. I never know what to start with when asking a fella if I could take some pictures of his clothing. While for a dude like this one its just a trench and a hat, I get very excited over khaki suits, tweed hats and furnishings such as a walking stick. So i cant ever keep my cool… Oooh the lapis!!
A better shot of the lapis. I dream of rings like these. Robert Bryan knows. He inscribed in his book “I leave you my last ring”
A profile of the Tweed Bucket Hat! Let’s see what we have going on inside…So long as the gent allows the inspection & documentation, I will further disect… His colors are so beautiful together.
The blue in the buttons of his cardigan and the lapis! Can you see the lined placket of his cardigan?! That’s quality, That is why he can still wear it 20 years or so after he purchased. It isn’t even too small, its just buttoned only on the bottom as he was just throwing it on to keep warm on his walk. He told me he wasn’t planning on running into me.
“These are Church’s or Alden, I forget” It doesn’t matter, I love how the pant breaks and the bleach spots on the bottom of the leg!
These remind me of when i saw Rene Ricard on the subway in Hermes black velvet evening pumps and they were all stained up!
His watch is pretty special (especially with the ring).
Masuo in his Vintage Patagonia Jacket
Saw dude while shopping at Ralph Lauren’s RUGBY shop in San Francisco over the weekend. He overheard me telling a friend to try a shetland sweater. I think it was when I compared it to a Shaggy Dog that we connected… He was wearing 993’s, Levi’s and this great Patagonia jacket he purchased 20+ years ago. We got onto talking, He loves Patagonia and L.L. Bean, however he isn’t happy that Patagonia nor L.L. Bean Signature doesn’t ship to Japan. Regular LL Bean does, but signature does not. He remarked how he thinks his jacket is “from the days Patagonia was designed by a woman” The Rolex he also bought about 20 years ago! He recently bought a Patek Philippe watch that he was on a four year waiting list. Intown to check out restaurants as he is in the food business.
Poly/Cotton Roll & a Nice Dimple
I'm not entirely sure (don't recall most of the night) how the blazer works under a Belstaff, but I like his vintage poly/cotton shirt and what looks like a similar blend in his tie. The collar has such a great roll and the stitching is pretty great too. The way the tie is still tight yet the top button un-buttoned is real casual elegance. I hate when someone just losens their tie and it dangles like an ornament. This looks marvelous. Great knot to boot.
