A 3 Button roll over lapel plaid blazer is great paired with a khaki pant and moccasins. His choice of frames are pretty hip right now as well. This guy has been wearing the same thing for 25 years, he told me so. We were wearing the same bow tie, only mine was navy w/ white dots.
This is one of my favorite pictures of Rene Ricard, I wish you could see his Hermes pumps. Black leather with white socks. Oh, it was also snowing on this day! his socks were soaked. Love this man. Talk about ghetto chic.
While Im not a big fan of suspenders with clips exposed ( I dont mind when covered by a blazer). I do love his pleated jeans !
Rene !
Dante !
Peep his pleats
If you cant button your denim jacket and youre not posing for your next album cover, you probably shouldnt be wearing it. I have seen alot of guys lately wearing tight jeans, a vintage T- and a denim jacket. This guy is ALWAYS wearing some small canvas skippies. not VANS but some keds or fake keds. The kind that look femme!
Look at Johnny Hallyday ! Say what you will, These guys are wearing denim that fits.
I was pretty mad when my friend Peter told me he was moving to LA, after him pleading with me to come out there, I finally paid a visit and glad I did. All the years of us chatting about Balenciaga, Alden and Turnbull are finally paying off…
When they broke down the walls, they found this really old graffiti on the bricks. Im glad they left it exposed like they did. Its not in your face- you sorta have to almost look for it..
The shop has an incredible selection of vintage shoes, boots and outerwear to compliment the new pieces by Left Field, Alden, Sugar Cane and soon to come shirts by MISTER MORT.
Love a short sleeve sweatshirt, this vintage joint is no exception !
PLease click on this here military shirt jacket and see enlarged
Run by Peter, his Lady Rosa and vintage expert Bill;is this truly magnificent shop. Really a comfortable shopping atmosphere, in fact, you only get spoken to if you so desire, otherwise help yourself! No salesman following you from item to item lecturing you about the designer and all that bullshit. Just quality garments and shoes and good conversation. The space is really nice and open, clean with a emphasis on reused wood and steel for the fixtures and quality on the clothing. Michael Williams wrote a great piece on Craft for GQ’s blog as well

On a recent visit to L.A. my friend took me around to see a few spots he thought I would like. When we pulled up to this spot, There was a gal in adidas running shorts, T shirt and flip flops on the telephone. She said “come on in” I ran through it and did my thing, asked a few questions which she didnt have answers to.. When i voiced my appreciation for the fine vintage pieces, she said “this isnt a vintage store, He will make you whatever you want, these are just examples”
long story short- after weeks of bothering my friend for the name of the operation, he finally wrote me today saying it has since closed !
